{"id":33,"date":"2013-10-21T23:59:26","date_gmt":"2013-10-21T23:59:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/elderslie-ars.org.uk\/?page_id=33"},"modified":"2013-12-25T16:01:50","modified_gmt":"2013-12-25T16:01:50","slug":"licensing-and-training","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/elderslie-ars.org.uk\/?page_id=33","title":{"rendered":"Licensing and Training"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>To transmit on the amateur bands in the UK, you need to be licensed by <a href=\"http:\/\/licensing.ofcom.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ofcom<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>There are three classes of licence available: <a href=\"http:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/clubs-training\/for-students\/foundation\/\" target=\"_blank\">Foundation<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/clubs-training\/for-students\/intermediate\/\" target=\"_blank\">Intermediate<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/clubs-training\/for-students\/advanced\/\" target=\"_blank\">Full (Advanced Exam).<\/a>\u00a0To obtain a licence you must first pass the appropriate examination set by the Radio Communication Foundation (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.commsfoundation.org\/rce\/\" target=\"_blank\">RCF<\/a>) on behalf of <a href=\"http:\/\/licensing.ofcom.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ofcom<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The club can provide training for all three levels. We are an <a href=\"http:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/\" target=\"_blank\">RSGB<\/a> registered exam centre and have two <a href=\"http:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/\" target=\"_blank\">RSGB<\/a> registered assessors.
