Welcome to the Elderslie Amateur Radio Society
We are a small group of enthusiasts that meet every Thursday night to enjoy a variety of activities.
We are a very informal team, visitors are made very welcome and a cup of tea is always available!
A typical evening includes
Operating on air
Building projects
Refurbishing and repairing kit and antennas
Below is two of the team refurbishing a rotator and an old WT8 straight key.
Latest projects include an Arduino based iambic keyer and some 70cm handheld antennas for portable satellite operation
Morse training – we have equipment for multiple students to receive and send across the table and recently have started transmitting morse practice transmissions under the GB2CW programme
Recently we chased Marconi day stations, the bands were not great but we had a great day, some pics below of the operators in action
