Last weekend, EARS helped the local 1st Elderslie Scout Group take part in the 56th Jamboree-on-the-Air event (JOTA).
We set up at the Scout hall with a 1/2 size G5RV for the HF bands, and a vertical antenna for 2m. Both worked very well allowing contacts as far away as Oman and the east coast of the USA, with plenty in Europe and closer to home. The boys learned about frequency and wavelength, Morse code and how to make a CQ call.
